Large Bowl, 6" wide dish, and 5" wide dish.

A 2.5 cup capacity water bowl will be available by the end of June or early July. Ideal for multi cat or small dog homes, or medium size single dog. It will be available in 3 colors Eggshell, Grey and Golden Brown. It will be attached to the same pedestal as the 6″ wet food dish. The rim will be 6″ from the floor. It is 2″ deep and 6″ wide with our unique turned in rim that helps avoid spilling.

Feeding and Litter Tips

Cats will drink more if their water is kept in a different area from their food. The water will also stay cleaner as food less likely to fall in it. Toilet water is full of bacteria, Pets can get internal bacterial infections from it.
Most all cats can drink Lactose free milk without the side effects of regular milk.
Pets should not eat from anything deep, narrow, plastic or flat on the floor.
For cats that vomit their food because they eat too fast, try feeding smaller amounts more often. Mixing water with wet food to make a ‘pudding’ consistency will force a cat to lick the food up, which will also slow it down.
Driftwood makes a great outdoor scratcher for cats.
To help loosen matted hair before brushing, work cornstarch into the mats.
Rub car wax on litter box walls to stop clay from sticking to them. Especially in corners! Hanging a piece of plastic over the side also works.
To limit litter tracking around the box, economically, place those interlocking open weave rubber tiles ( made for concrete floors) around it. One row about 2″ or 3″ away from the box should be sufficient.
To stop a cat kneading on you, just rub it’s chin.
To avoid scratching off the BPA (toxic white coating) on the inside of cans, and to get all the contents and gravy from a can of food use a mini baby food jar spatula.
Sit your dish on the front part of an aluminum or paper pie plate to catch any food pushed over the back.
To help food pushers, and lickers that flatten their wet food on the bottom of the dish try adding water to make it into more of a pudding consistency.
If you’re having to medicate your cat with a bad tasting med. ( and they are ALL bad tasting to cats) wash it down with a couple of cc’s of water from a second syringe immediately after dosing.

Suggestions for Larger Dogs

As we cannot supply these dishes in sizes large enough for the bigger breeds of dogs because the weight of them would make them very difficult for most people to manage, we’d like to help you find something suitable for your dog.

1. By Googling ‘raised dog bowls’ then clicking on the ‘Images’ link in the left sidebar you will get pictures of nearly all that are available on the internet. Most all just have stainless steel bowls in them that can you can replace with a ceramic bowl of your choice.

2. Google ‘plant stands’ there you will see many that can be used to put a ceramic bowl in for your dog. Much less expensive than ones “made for dog bowls” There may even be a metal worker in your area that would make you one to order. And a potter to make the bowl for it. www.frontgate/skylight has some good ideas as well.

3. A tall plant pot, narrow rather than wide, can be used for the pedestal and look nice in your home, and again a ceramic bowl sitting in the top can be bought to closely match it, or have a local potter make you one.

4. If you are able to find a piece of PVC pipe wide enough, about 7 or 8″, it can be cut to the right height for your large dog, which would be about to the middle of his chest, and a ceramic bowl bought to fit in it.

Try raising your pet’s dish (rim should be mid-chest) in one of these ways, using a small restaurant style soup bowl for water and shallow desert dishes for food. Food more likely pushed off saucers, but will work also.

1. PVC pipe joiners ( 4″ long and about $1.50 at hardware store) set bowl in one end.

2. Terracotta plant pot ( right end up) with bowl on top.

3. Canned beans (or other heavy can) with bowl on top.

4. Yogurt or? container with dish on top, may need a weight in bottom of container.

Do you have a Classy Cat dish bought prior to 2011 you’d like to sell? Please contact us for possible buyers. We are looking in particular for the Ovals, the push backs & splash backs, the 2 or 4 cup size bowls, the 5″ dish on the 2 1/2″ pedestal, booster bases, especially the medium and large sizes, and almost any dish in the honey brown color. Not sure? Let us know what you have. Sorry no damaged or personalized dishes. Buyers will be put in touch with you as they contact us.
