What our raised cat and dog dishes are all about!
We realize that raised cat and dog dishes is a new concept for some. With four different models of Classy Cat and Dog Dishes you’ll be able to choose the best one for your pet’s meals.
- The 5″ diameter pet dish for water or dry food has a deeper bowl to contain dry food with less exposure to air and keep water cleaner, being higher up off the floor.
- The 6″ diameter pet dish for canned or fresh food is a shallower ‘plate’ that helps to avoid whisker irritation, and gives your pet better access around the food, the special rim also helps them pick it up from the sides without pushing it out..
- The 3 cup larger water bowl is perfect for homes for 2 or more small pets to share or a medium sized dog up to 25 or 30 pounds for water or dry food.
- A SHORTER dish on a 2.5 ” high pedestal for the short legged pets such as the Dachshund Chihuahua, the Munchkin cat breed, and other tiny pets that are too short for the 3 other models that are on 4″ pedestals.
All my bowls have been tested for the most comfortable height for the vast majority of cats and small dogs that allows them to stand or sit with front legs STRAIGHT, not having to crouch to floor level as with almost all other products. They have turned in rims to better contain the food. This makes it easier for older pets with few or no teeth to pick up their food. Plus, no more licking morsels off the plate and on to the floor or counter. They are very durable, but if used on a concrete or ceramic floor, we suggest you put a mat under them. To have them made anywhere but Asia would not have made them affordable for most pet owners, in essence defeating my purpose of making them. They have been certified lead and cadmium free in a California SGS Lab. They are hand crafted by a manufacturer of dinnerware for human use in Taiwan, recommended to me by a US sourcing company in IN. I had some made in the USA for those that can afford the higher labor cost, and prefer to “Buy American”. A ceramic pet dish such as these cannot be made in the US and retail for less than about $50. because of the labor cost of about $25 an hour. I have found only a few US made ceramic pet dishes on the internet and all are the ‘old flat on the floor style’ and priced $40 and more. The other 99% are made in China. It is apparent that unless a listed product states very clearly that it’s ‘Made in the USA’ it’s safe to assume it’s not, and China will be its likely source.
I am also having this product made in Japan. They are priced about $46 to $60 USD each plus shipping from Japan. They must be ordered from seller in Japan. Please visit http://www.necoto-interior.com/
Below are images of the White Dry Food Dish made in Japan. Yukie currently only stocks this one size, and the 3 cup bowl in several colors.
